The Jack Binns Story – follow-up video

February 23, 2021 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

In 2019 John Allen told us the amazing story of Jack Binns – a local boy who became a radio operator on the  RMS Republic in 1909 and saved over 1,500 lives (still the largest high sea rescue to date). He was later offered a position on the Titanic which, fortunately for him, he refused. Interest in the sunken vessel still goes on, as it was reputably a `treasure` vessel delivering gold to the Tsar of Russia. This is the film that was made which tells the story and the re-discovery of the wreck.
