TIME TRAVELLERS TRAIL – explore the ancient town of Kirton in Lindsey

The Time Travellers Trail works from your smartphone and, using GPS, guides you around the town to visit 21 Points of Interest (POI) to find out about the stories behind these historic sites. Each POI has a spoken narrative, words and pictures and some have ‘then and now’ sliders so you can compare.  You can be a real time traveller!

The Trail starts in the Market Place where there is a Start Board on the Kirton Fish Bar railings. Scan the QR code (or click the web address: https://kilttt.quest which will take you to the website where you follow the instructions. The Trail can be done all at once (about 1 hour) or piecemeal, as suits, and goes down and back up the hill.

The sofa version. Not everyone will feel they can walk all of the Trail so the good news is that you can do it from your sofa (or anywhere in the World)! On the menu you can select the POIs separately and each one has the same information as the Trail with an added video to show you the building in question. It will also be useful if you want to review the information later to show friends or do any follow-up research. If you save the website in ‘Favourites’ it can be available any time you want it.

It is simple to use, there is no app to download and it is free.

You don’t have to live in Kirton to do the trail, the link can be sent to anyone who may be interested, particularly ‘exiles’ living in other parts of the country or World who may have links to Kirton in Lindsey.
