William has a unique collection of Lincolnshire-made chairs. He says:

“I never realised that I have so many rush seated ladder back chairs . Many of these in this picture can be attributed to Lincolnshire , those that can not were likely made in East Anglia .
Its an unfortunate truth that these sort of chairs have very little value in the salerooms and are increasingly difficult to find – but its essential that they are not destroyed but saved for the benefit of the history of rural craft in the county .”
