An opportunity to travel in time!

Sunday 13^th September 2026 2-4pm

This is the 1st of two FREE guided tours based on our award-winning Time Travellers Trail – with added content and the opportunity to ask questions and find out even more! The event is a combination of a guided walk and visit to the Grade II listed Kirton in Lindsey Diamond Jubilee Town Hall.

The event will be around two hours and start outside the Diamond Jubilee Town Hall in the Market Place. We will walk around our historic town, stopping along the way at various points of historic interest.

You will also meet local characters as you walk around: an important local doctor (but not for the reason you may be thinking about); the forward-thinking Curate; and ‘Trotty’ Cook – bringing everyday life of the past into focus.

Please note Kirton in Lindsey is hilly! The walk includes going down and back up a hill.

Returning to the Town Hall, you will have the opportunity to look round the building, meeting the first Trustees and some of their stories, and see the building’s special features. These include recently restored and displayed original doors from the town’s House of Correction and a visit to the Heritage Room to view the displays.

Light Refreshments and toilets will be available.

Pre-booking required as places are restricted to 15 people. If the weather is very wet an indoor version will be offered.
